Blueprint’s gaming floor classic finally makes its online debut
King Kong Cash is one of Blueprint Gaming’s most popular and exciting slots, and boasts more features than you can shake a banana at! The eponymous Kong sits beside the reels, similar to the canidae protagonist of Nextgen’s Foxin’ Wins.
He seems a little sleepy though and spends much of his time in a continuous slumber, waking only to award an occasional feature spin.
This is a cheeky monkey though, and sometimes he will opt to tease you by simply giving his bits a quick scratch before closing his eyes once more!
What We Love
The game offers a multitude of ways to score a huge win, both during regular spins and the various bonus modes. A lot of games that have a large number of different features will balance things out with a disappointingly poor paytable, but that isn’t the case here.
The top symbol is stacked on all reels too, making it possible to fill several paylines with the largest five of a kind combination simultaneously.
Out of the various base game features, two really stand out as having a large amount of potential. Firstly, the Banana Cannon Wilds which often adds at least one wild to all five of the reels and will sometimes scatter as many as nine big paying symbols all across the screen.
If you manage to land a couple of King Kong Cash symbols on the first reel whilst this feature is active you can expect a huge payout! Secondly, the Bonus Boost will dramatically increase your chances of triggering the bonus mode on your next spin by adding twenty or more additional bonus symbols to the reels.
You won’t hit three scatters every time, but this feature significantly reduces your chances of waiting hundreds of spins inbetween bonus rounds.
Blueprint have wisely chosen to place just one set of bonus symbols on the reels, which is extremely beneficial to the player. Whilst many other games fill their “bonus wheel” with a bunch of token cash prizes, the wheel in King Kong Cash comprises only bonus games.
This is fantastic, as it can be massively disappointing for the player when they fail to receive a bonus round after waiting hundreds of spins just to get the scatter symbols. Better yet, this game also gives you the choice to gamble the wheels selection, and even awards you a token consolation prize should you lose.
What We Do Not Like
It’s a shame the bonus symbols don’t have their own paytable allocation, particularly as there doesn’t seem to be any benefit to hitting more than three of them.
It is possible that the game increases your odds of hitting the higher paying features on the bonus wheel when it is triggered by four or five scatters, but as such combinations are extremely rare it is difficult to confirm this without playing the game for a very long time.
Also, the King Kong Streak feature which locks winning symbols in the style of NetEnt’s “Jack Hammer” games tends to choose the lower paying symbols far more than it should be it genuinely random.
It’s still a welcome boost should you manage to fill all or most of the screen with a Queen or Jack, but you can’t help but feel disappointed that it never chooses to lock the big money symbols!
King Kong Cash is currently only available at a small number of online casinos, but it’s such a great machine that it’s worth taking the time to seek out – there’s an excellent chance that at least one of your favourite casinos will have it available.
Some of Blueprint’s slots have been criticised for lacking features, making their machines less suitable for the online world where players tend to spend significantly longer spinning one game compared to those on the casino floor.
The company has obviously been listening, as King Kong Cash has so many tricks up its sleeve that it will take even the most dedicated players a huge amount of time to properly explore of all of the features available.
